Costs and pricing model

With ASTAG Charge, you only incur costs when you actually charge. There is neither a base fee nor setup costs, only a service fee per kWh charged.

Here is how the price is made up.

1.What fleets pay

As a fleet, you pay a price per kWh that consists of two parts.

  • The site's charging price, which each depot operator sets in the tariff and which therefore differs from site to site.

Depot operators can also set different prices for different fleet groups, for example lower community tariffs for the fleets of the ASTAG Charge community or bilaterally agreed prices for individual fleets.

  • The ASTAG Charge service fee.

It is CHF 0.025 per kWh for ASTAG members and CHF 0.04 per kWh for non-members who charge at Swiss sites.

You can see the price in the portal before you charge, so you always know your costs. All prices are exclusive of VAT, with the rate and currency determined by the country of the site.

Billing takes place monthly by invoice, which we send to the billing email address you have entered.

The following diagram shows how the total amount is made up and who receives which part.

Depotcharge issues the fleet's company with an invoice that lists the charging energy and the service fee separately, and the fleet pays the total amount to Depotcharge. Depotcharge pays the depot operator the net tariff the operator has set, while the service fee stays with Depotcharge.

In the example in the diagram, 231.325 kWh at the net tariff of CHF 0.52 per kWh gives CHF 120.29 for the depot operator, and the service fee of CHF 0.025 per kWh comes to CHF 5.78, making CHF 126.07 net in total. All figures in the diagram are placeholders.

2.What depot operators receive

As a depot operator, your price is your net revenue, because the service fee is charged to the fleet on top and is not deducted from your revenue. Depotcharge, the operator of the platform behind ASTAG Charge, pays out to your company monthly once you have entered your payout details there.

The tariff that applied at the time of charging is always the one billed. If your station was offline in the meantime, the charging data is synchronised afterwards, so you are still paid for every kWh.

3.Community tariffs

As an ASTAG member, you belong to the ASTAG Charge community. Depot operators can target their agreement offers at this community with the Community fleets option and offer the fleets there special prices.

You can see which prices apply to your fleet in the respective agreement offer before you accept or request it.

4.Note

The revenue shown in the portal is always net and does not include the service fee.
