Create a site

Your site becomes usable for drivers once the site and a fleet have accepted an agreement offer and the charging points are technically connected. To get there, first set the site to In operation and define an agreement offer for the site.

1.Prerequisites

You have the Admin role. You also need a company, that is, the company that invoices and payouts are addressed to.

It is created automatically when you register your organisation; you can add further companies in the organisation settings if needed.

2.Step by step

  1. 1.
First, switch to Depot operator at the top left and open Sites in the sidebar.
  2. 2.
Click Add site at the top right to open the form of the same name, Add site, on the right.
  3. 3.
Enter a name under Site name and select under Status whether the site is In operation or Planned.

In the Add site form, In operation is preselected, whereas with Planned, fleets can initially only express their interest and do not see an agreement offer.

  4. 4.
Then select one of the two options under Site type.
    • Public charging site is publicly accessible and not fenced off, for example a charging park.
    • Depot charging site is often on private company premises, which is why drivers need access or have to log in there.
  5. 5.
Under Visibility, specify who sees the site.
    • Visible to all fleets on Depotcharge shows the site to every fleet, that is, all fleets on Depotcharge, BGL Charge and ASTAG charge, and is suitable if as many fleets as possible should find the site.

Fleets can accept the agreement offer directly on the map.

Depending on the agreement offer, you can approve or reject fleets.

    • Only visible to fleets with an agreement shows the site only to fleets that already have an agreement, and is suitable if only your preselected partners should see the site.
  6. 6.
Under Company, select the appropriate company from the list, because the payout for the fleets' charging sessions goes to it later.
  7. 7.
Under Use the map or enter your site's address, click the map to place a pin so that the address fields fill in automatically.
  8. 8.
Then check Street and house number, Postcode and City, and correct the details by hand if needed.
  9. 9.
We recommend optionally entering a Description of no more than 50 words.

Under Driver access support, you can also store an Access description and an Access code, entering the code only if drivers need it for the site.

If the field stays empty, the site details page does not show a code.

  10. 10.
Under Support contact, enter a Telephone number and an Email.

This information is optional, but we strongly recommend it so that fleets can reach you directly with questions.

  11. 11.
Under Opening hours for external fleets, select Open 24/7 or Has opening hours.

With Has opening hours, activate the days of the week on which the site is open and then enter the times for each day.

  12. 12.
So that fleets know what to expect on site, optionally select suitable details in these groups.
    • Energy supply with Green electricity and Load management
    • Site facilities with Overnight charging permitted, Parking and Truck wash
    • Driver facilities with WiFi, Toilets, Vending machine, Coffee, Restaurant or canteen, Washing machine, Shower and Grocery shop
  13. 13.
Optionally, under Upload site images, upload up to 10 images in PNG, JPG or JPEG format.

This is worthwhile, because good images, facilities and opening hours help determine whether truck drivers come to your site.

  14. 14.
Finally, save the site using the button at the end of the form.

3.Result

The new site appears in the list under Sites, and you can now add charging points and set agreement offers for the site. If you want to offer the fleets of the ASTAG charge community a special price, select the Community fleets option under Fleet partners in the agreement offer.

It is important that your backend/CPMS is linked to our system as soon as the charging points have been created with data.

For many backends/CPMS, we already have a plug-and-play solution, although some systems still need a more complex integration. Simply contact support for this.

4.Note

With Plan site, you register a site that does not exist yet. In the Plan site form, the status Planned is preselected for this, so that fleets can express their interest.

This way you can tell whether there is demand before you invest.

Note that visible does not mean usable, because only fleets with an agreement are permitted to charge. So create the appropriate agreement offer after the site has been created.
